Ferdinando Catania

Ferdinando Catania, 85, of Hillsdale (formerly Leonia), passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10th. Beloved husband of Elena Maria Catania. Devoted father of Raffaele Catania, Gina Catania (Joseph Balzamo) and Ferdinando Catania, Jr (Adriana Catania). Dear brother of Mariangela Catania. Loving Nonno of Peter Thomas and Sophia Rose Catania. Born in Licata Sicily he lived in the United States for 65 years. Ferdinando was an Engineer and in the early part of his career worked at Bellezza Company and in his latter years with Joseph M. Sanzari, Inc. His joys in life included his beloved family, spending quality time with his dear friends, watching his favorite Italian Serie A soccer team Roma and visiting his birth city of Licata.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 15th, 10;30am at the Church of Saint Andrew, located in 120 Washington Avenue, Westwood. The entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
