Francesco Ferrara

Frank Ferrara, 95 a lifelong resident Norwood, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 26th, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 72 years to Marie (nee Sorrentino), devoted father to Lenore Modugno (Antonio), Lorene Esposito (Gaetano) and Alfonso Ferrara. He is survived by his sister Rose Aletta and predeceased by his brother Charles Ferrara, sister Connie +Fratello (nee Ferrara) and his granddaughter, Leah Francesca Esposito. He was the loving grandfather to Serafina Salemi (John), Maria Ciaburri (Chris), Teresa Scalora (Aldo), Nunzio Esposito (Emily), Gina Ventresca (Tony), Sophia Walden (Chris), Frankie Ferrara and Alfonso Ferrara. He was the proud great grandfather to: Lenore, Pasqaule, Giosefina, Antonia, Lorenzo, Leah, Marcello, Lucia, Enza and Jeily. Frank was born in the Bronx and moved to Englewood, NJ. He went into business with his dad selling ice blocks and then opened his own business selling custom blinds and shades (Ferrara & Son). Upon his retirement he became a crossing guard in Norwood and retired at 90. Frank would then be found on his recliner holding hands with his wife. His favorite past times were spending time with his family, watching the Yankees, looking up topics on his ipad, and sitting next to the love of his life, on the front porch enjoying the outdoor air and watching the passing cars. Most memorable of all was Frank’s hands of gold, his patience, and his love of family. May God rest Frank’s gentle soul. A visitation for Francesco will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 211 Summit St, Norwood, NJ 07648. A committal will occur Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefleys Ln, Fort Lee, NJ 07024. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Francesco's memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarrior.org.
