Fragie Fohums, Bubber, Pineapple, Frank Florio-President of the Crrr Club of America, was my cousin, about 6 years younger than me. We grew up in a 2 family house, our mothers were sisters and we lived one floor apart. Frank was a unique, intelligent kid. He was cautious but creative. His creativity manifested in everything from directing/producing movies with his friend, John Agnello (most famously “He Did It His Way”-an AgnOrio Production) when he was 13 or 14. Naming and defining stages in the human life experience-Vicious Kids, TeenAge Hoods, Senior TeenAge Hoods, Ferocious Gentlemen, even Gracious Grannies and Pooped Pops. On the cautious side Frank refused to participate in dangerous games like Kick the Can-where despite opting out and staying on the sidelines  was the one lacerated by the flying can-likewise, opting out of a backyard football game, Frank was the one who broke his arm. Oddly, no one could come close to besting him at the venerable test of arm wrestling.
Frank attended Rutgers Law School-but dropped out despite excellent grades. I asked why and he said he wanted to become an attorney to help people but all they were teaching was how to make money, so he said he would become a police officer instead where he could help people much more directly.
He was very devoted to his wife Patti (Sweet Pea) and his son Kevin.  Frank worked hard at his chosen profession and was unsurprisingly successful. 
From when he was a kid, Frank was very fixated on competing with me at a broad array of contests,  all created by him-this despite the enormous advantage I had of being 6 years older. Frank was more like another brother than a random cousin. Unfortunately, luck-the biggest lubricant in life-was not with Frank. His long cruel illness demonstrates again that there is no fair in life. I have missed and will miss Frank tremendously. A totally, unique, loving, wonderful guy is sadly gone.

I will remember my brother Frank (Bubber) for many things, especially the times we had with mom and dad as kids at 21 and 41 Grove Street.  

Bubber used to make these weird faces and made up his own language...very entertaining. 

He made a bet with a friend one time that he could eat 25 white castle hamburgers in one sitting....and he did! He never backed down from a challange!

We always enjoyed going for our walks in the woods and spending time together.

He was a great father and husband. He was also a good Police Officer.

I could never ask for a better brother.
 
He is resting in peace with our lord Jesus.
He will be missed by me, Janice and both our sons and their families.

Frank was one of the kindest and funniest people I knew. Especially growing up, he treated us kids with respect and would joke and talk with us like he did with the adults. I was always extra happy to see him at family get togethers.

 I remember we were golfing with him, Vic, and my dad. He was struggling a little, and on the 4th hole when it was his turn to hit his drive, he looked down at the ball and, to himself, said "ok ball, you don't like me, and I don't like you", and then proceeded to hit his best shot of the day.

Surprised and sorry to hear of Frank's death. My sympathies and condolences to the family for your loss. R.I. P. Pard.
