George K. Van Horn, 84 years old of Township of Washington, NJ passed away quietly at home on August 24, 2012. Born in Oradell, NJ, he lived in Hillsdale, NJ before moving to Township of Washington. Mr. Van Horn was a WWII Navy veteran and a past usher at Christ Lutheran Church, Woodcliff Lake, NJ. He retired in 1990 after working for 30 + years for Bergen County as an electrical and general foreman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Berndt) Van Horn; his sons, Jeff Van Horn and his wife Linda and Doug Van Horn and his wife Sandy; and his grandchildren, Ted, Alex, Thomas and Lauren. George was predeceased by his sister, Kay Van Horn. Visiting hours are Monday 7-9pm at the Becker Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
