

Dr. Gurdip Singh Sidhu, M.D., 81, of Harrington Park, NJ passed away surrounded by family and friends on Friday, February 24th, 2017, after bravely handling Parkinsons disease for twenty-two years. He was born in Lahore, British India on December 10, 1935. Gurdip is survived by his beloved wife Jagdish (nee Dhillon), loving daughters Nikki and her husband Paul, Vinita and her husband Bruce, and brother Gursharan and his wife Elvira. He has five grandchildren, Dillon, Daria, Nivi (d. June 15, 2007), Devani and Meera. He was an alumnus of the Bishop Cotton School in Simla, Hindu College in New Delhi, Amritsar Medical School, and the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He had a long successful career as a pathologist and respected professor at the VA Medical Center in Manhattan and the NYU Medical Center. His life was full of endless passions and interests, marked by his gift for painting and photography. He enjoyed time in the outdoors, gardening, hiking and skiing with his family. He was an avid reader and never stopped learning. The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ today, February 26th, from 2-4PM. Antam ardas followed by langar will be held at 1PM on Monday February 27th at the Glen Rock Gurudwara in Glen Rock, NJ.
