Harold Steven Shapero

SHAPERO, Harold S., 58, of Westwood, NJ, passed away with his loving family at his side on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He was born in Newport, RI to the late Allen L. and Lenore E. Shapero. Beloved husband of Julie and devoted father of Benjamin. Eldest Nephew of Marty Yavener. Dear brother of Ellen Zane (Steve), Beth Jacobs (Jake) and Craig Shapero (Kari). His in-laws; Georgette Paré, John and Christine Kenney, Patrick and Dianne Phalon, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive Harold. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut (1981) and received his MBA in Finance from University of Hartford in 1987. Harold’s professional career began at Cigna, then on to Bankers Trust. He was recruited by Globe Tax Services Inc., NY, NY in 1994 and attained the position of Managing Director. He helped build their ADR depositary business and fostered lasting relationships with the marketplace. His contributions continued when he moved to the Sales and Marketing team to manage the Depositary and Transfer Agent relationships. Harold was an avid philatelist and collector. Spending time with his son, as well as traveling with his family were among his favorite activities. Getting together weekly with his group of poker buddies was also high on his list. He will certainly be remembered by many and missed by all.

Family and friends will be gathering at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ this Sunday, September 21st from 10 AM – 1 PM to remember their times with Harold.
