

Helen Banks (nee Jahn), of Montvale, NJ, passed away on March 4th, 2015. Daughter of Frederick Jahn and Helen Prina. Helen had two brothers Frederick and William. Helen grew up in Dumont, NJ where she graduated from Dumont High School. She married Donald Hageman on September 4th, 1948 and raised six children. Helen subsequently married George Banks and settled in Pine Bush, NY. They were married for 16 years.
Helen is survived by her sons Donald, Michael, Patrick and Timothy and her daughter Penny. She was predeceased by her son Richard and her loving husband George Banks. She was the proud grandmother of Keith, Jahn, Sarah, Ashley, Timothy, Jacqueline, Cheryl, Nicole, Thomas, Daniel, Alaina, Dean and her 6 great-grandchildren.
Helen worked as a secretary for the Manhattan Project during the 1940’s and later worked as a waitress for many years, over ten of which were spent at the Casa Hofbrau House in Emerson, NJ. She was an avid painter, bird enthusiast, gardener, breast cancer survivor and most importantly, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7th from 1pm to 4pm with a services at 3:00 pm.
