James L. Polen

He passed away peacefully on August 9th. In 1956 he and his family relocated to Mahwah, New Jersey where he worked for Winston Chevrolet Dealership in Suffern, New York. He then moved to Orlando, Florida in 1972 where he resided for several years. In 1978 he moved to Westwood, New Jersey and began working for A. Fazio Moving Company in Ramsey, New Jersey. He retired in 1987.

James was known for keeping his cars and motorcycles spotless, playing cards, shooting pool, and fishing amongst various other hobbies. He cherished his time spent with family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Amos Polen, as well as his siblings Amos, John W, Mary Stone, Daisy Powell, and John Lee.

He is survived by his children, James Lerenz Polen (Cynthia) and Jennifer Jane Polen; his grandchildren, Michael Polen and Shauna Polen; and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Aiden. He is also survived by his dear friend, Lelia Martina Polen, and his siblings Thomas (Jackye), Benjamin (Dolores), Delores, Charles (Alicia), Cindy, and Lizzie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

James's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. His presence will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 23rd from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home, Westwood with a memorial service will beginning at 1:00pm.
