

James “Jim” Flynn, 77, of Park Ridge, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was born in New York City to Albert and Mary (Newman) Flynn. He is survived by his loving wife Cathy, of 48 years, son Dan and his wife Sharon, and his son Brendan and daughter Erin Jay and her husband Jason, Proud grandfather of Kaitlyn, Emma, Hayden, Declan and Reagan. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Schappert and her husband Tom. Dear uncle of Terry and Tommy Schappert. In his gratitude for receiving his heart transplant in 1992, he served as President of Gift of Life at Columbia Presbyterian for 20 years. He was active in both Cornerstone and Cursillo at OLM in Park Ridge, NJ. He was involved with the Social Justice Committee, choir and taught CCD for many years. Most recently he became a member of the K of C, Our Lady of Fatima Council. Jim loved working with people and had a rewarding career with 3M for over 20 years. He sold for the Business Products Division and sold computer systems for 3M Auto Repair Management System Division. He was highly regarded by management, peers and customers. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, November 29 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Jim’s life and faith will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ on Friday, November 30 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Haiti Scholarship Fund at OLM would be appreciated.
