Joan McHugh

McHUGH, Joan (nee Finnerty), 91, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Bergenfield, NJ and Woodcliff Lake, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014. She was born in Jersey City, NJ to Peter and Margaret Finnerty. Beloved wife of the late Robert V. McHugh. Devoted mother of Joan Paolercio and her husband Michael, Robert V. McHugh, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, Michael W. McHugh and his wife Donna, Susan Concialdi and her husband James. Dear sister of Rosemary Finnerty and Patricia De Mild. She is predeceased by her sisters Virginia Lottimer, Margaret Quirolo and Helen Revel; and her brothers, Stanley and Francis Finnerty. Loving grandmother of Robert McHugh, III and his wife Daria, Daniel McHugh and his wife Victoria, Denise Marra and her husband Nicholas, Michael A. Paolercio, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, Michael W. McHugh, Jr., Robert McHugh, Jessica Wood and her husband Ronald, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Brianna, James, Emily and Matthew Concialdi. Cherished great grandmother of Quinn, Alex, Georgia, Delaney, Finn, Graham, Ellie, Cate, Matthew and Brielle. Before retiring, she was a bookkeeper for the Grand Union Company, Wayne, NJ. She was a member of the Jerry Lynch Social Club and the Woodcliff Lake Seniors. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, October 7, from 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Joan’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ, on Wednesday, October 8 at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the charity of one's choice.
