John F. Kavanagh

KAVANAGH, John F., 92, formerly of Park Ridge, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Catherine Kavanagh. Beloved husband of Dolores Kavanagh. Devoted father of Sean and Jennifer Kavanagh. Loving grandfather of Nora and Darcy. He is predeceased by his sisters, Catherine and Grace and his brother, Richard. Before retiring, John taught at Immaculate Heart Academy, Twp. of Washington, NJ. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ and he served our country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, May 11 from 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating John’s life and faith will be held at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ on Thursday, May 12 at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at the Fred Loescher Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY. Memorial gifts may be made in John’s name to the Jedh C. Barker American Legion Post #153, Park Ridge, NJ.
