

WHITE, John Joseph III, of Hillsdale, NJ, 70, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and friends at Villa Marie Claire Hospice. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Willa White, and his adored son, Justin John White. He is also survived by his three sisters, (Kathleen Chintala of Etna, NH, Eileen White of Franklin, NJ, Ginny White of Little Ferry, NJ), and his brother-in-law, Lynn Chick of Kansas City, MO. John was the proud uncle of his niece and four nephews, and the loving great uncle to five great nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his infant son John Joseph White, IV, and his parents, John and Adele White of West New York, NJ. John grew up in West New York, NJ, where he attended Harry L. Bain Elementary School and St. Joseph’s High School. He was a graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. He received his MBA from Fordham University, NYC. He served as a councilman of Closter, NJ, for several years. He was a life-long member of Hudson and Bergen County Democratic Clubs. He was a parishioner at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Hillsdale, NJ. John loved to travel and was able to travel extensively for both business and pleasure. He visited most of the states as well as frequent trips to Europe and Asia. His favorite vacation spot was with his family in Aruba. John was Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for National Steel Rule in Linden, NJ. He previously served as President of Zimmer Industries. John was best described by the President of National in his announcement to the company and industry of John’s passing. Eddie Mucci wrote “Though he truly loved his work and consistently excelled at it, what John did for a living in no way defined who he was. What defined him was his class, his grace, his unwavering sense of optimism, his work ethic and above all, his toughness and determination. While being soft-spoken, John had the heart of a lion. Throughout the course of his illness, he never once complained, or even acknowledged how serious and painful his condition was.” John was the epitome of a true gentleman and loved by all. The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass celebrating his life and faith will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Hillsdale, NJ, on Wednesday, July 6, at 10 a.m. with interment at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, NJ to follow.
