ROMANOWICZ, Joseph, 78, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 of Emerson. Beloved husband of 55 year to Agnes (Daley). Devoted father of Laura Romanowicz, Joseph J., Nancy Colucco and her husband Robert and the late Deborah Gardner and son-in-law Richard. Dear brother of the late John and Stanley. Loving grandfather of Michael, Nicholas, Cassie and Robert J., “RJ”. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born in Cliffside Park, he lived in Dumont before moving to Emerson 42 years ago. Joseph was a computer programmer for Bank of New York in New York City for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He served in the US Air Force. Joseph was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, Emerson, a member of the Emerson Seniors and St. Mary’s Seniors of Closter. He was a substitute Crossing Guard in Emerson and an Emerson Auxiliary Police Officer for 25 years. Joseph enjoyed working in his garden and work shop, doing crossword puzzles and taking trips to Atlantic City. Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Thursday at 9:00 am. Mass at the Church of the Assumption at 10:00 am, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
