Josephine M. Baker

Josephine Baker (nee Tudisco) passed away on Saturday, July 20th at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband Jesse, son Kenneth, sister Anne Saco, brothers Sal and Vincent Tudisco and grandson Ben Fisher. She is survived by her sons Joseph (Karen), Kevin (Beth), daughter Donna Fisher (Les), daughter in law Debra Baker, grandchildren Chris Baker, Andrew Baker, Tiffany Martino, Amanda Costagliola, Greg Baker, Brad Baker, Dan Baker, Carly Baker and 6 great grandchildren

Josie was born and raised in Emerson where she and Jesse also chose to raise their own family. She was a dedicated parishioner of the Assumption Church. She was an active member of the Emerson Senior Center where she was in charge of the kitchen for many years and also served on their board. She loved to travel and was an avid Yankee fan. Family and friends were everything to her. She enjoyed going on the outings with the seniors. When she wasn’t hosting family gatherings, she always helped others by cooking her delicious Italian food and of course her famous carrot cake. Loved for her kindness, generosity, and caring nature, she will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, July 24th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25th at Church of the Assumption, 29 Jefferson Avenue, Emerson, NJ at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery.
