Juergen A. Bauer

Juergen Bauer, 88, of The Villages, FL, Hillsdale and formerly of Washington Township, NJ, passed away on July 7, 2026. Born in Hamburg, Germany, to his late parents, Ellie and Hermann Bauer, he immigrated to the United States as an adolescent. He attended City College of NY where he received his Master's degree.

He served for many years as an executive with Travelers Insurance, where his leadership, and dedication earned him the deep respect of his colleagues.

Throughout his life, Juergen resided in Washington Township, NJ, where he raised his family and established deep roots in the community and Zion Lutheran Church in Westwood, NJ, where he served as President of the Congregation. Upon retirement, he wintered in the community of The Villages in Florida, enjoying the warm weather and keeping active playing golf and cycling with his friends. He loved traveling the world and visiting his family in Germany.

Juergen’s greatest joy was his family. He was the beloved husband of Frieda Dimitry-Bauer and her family who loved Juergen. He was predeceased by his first wife, Camille and their daughter, Christine.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10th 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ. Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 11th at 9:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 155 2nd Ave., Westwood, NJ.
