In loving memory - it is with great sadness that we share the passing of Karen Elizabeth Stober of Park Ridge, NJ, on October 3rd. She was 65 years old. Karen was predeceased by her parents Martin J. and Eileen T. Lydon of River Vale, NJ. She is survived by her longtime loving significant other of 27 years, James V. Lavin of Park Ridge, NJ, her sister Janice E. Weaver of Folsom, California, her goddaughter Kimberly Hanline of Matthews, South Carolina, and many cousins throughout the country, including Charles M. Lydon of Montvale, NJ.
Karen was born on October 29th, 1960, in Westwood, NJ, and grew up in River Vale until moving to Park Ridge in 1992. Upon graduating high school, Karen attended Berkeley Secretarial School in Ridgewood. She was employed by A&P Corporate Headquarters in Montvale for 37 years, the latter years as Executive Administrative Assistant and was often referred to by her co-workers as one who always "went the extra mile" everyday.
Karen was an accomplished bowler and avid Jets fan. After retiring, Karen enjoyed reading, traveling, especially to the beach, and spending summers at the Park Ridge pool. Her passion was cooking, and she loved organizing and sharing her recipes with others, especially "the keepers".
Karen was grateful for all the love and friendships over the years, and she will be missed by many and forever in our hearts.
Memorial donations in Karen's memory may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the Triboro Ambulance Corp of Park Ridge, NJ would be greatly appreciated.
