Kathleen M. Chambers

CHAMBERS, Kathleen M., 69, of Westwood, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014. Kathie was born in Englewood, NJ to Augustine and Olga McCloskey. Beloved wife of 46 years to John G. Chambers. Kathie is survived by her daughter Nancy Chambers Urbonas and her husband Kevin of Westerly, RI and their children; and her son Christopher Chambers and Brittany Leader of Hoboken, NJ. She is predeceased by her great aunt Elizabeth McCloskey. Kathie was a graduate of Academy of the Holy Angels, Seton Hall University and Dominican College where she received her Masters’ of Education. Kathie retired from the New Milford public schools as a middle and elementary school teacher. Kathie was a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Westwood for many years, volunteered for Pascack Valley Hospital, a parishioner of St. Andrew R.C. Church in Westwood, very supportive of her husband’s work with the Lion’s Club, active with Tennis for life, bridge and book clubs, avid supporter and fan of local theater and Broadway. Kathie served for many years as a passionate volunteer for American Cancer Society as their Reach to Recovery Coordinator for Bergen County, a rehabilitation program for women who have had breast cancer. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Monday, June 30 from 3-5 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Kathie’s life and faith will be held at St. Andrew R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, July 1 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Kathie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
