I met Kathy through Michele over 20 years ago. Over the years we met up either at parties or to celebrate hers and Pats birthdays that were a few days apart. She was always smiling and ready to have a good time. While I didn’t see her all the time, Michele always kept me updated on how she was doing. Kathy, you were a true warrior and were tested over and over again. Now you are an angel along side of your Little angel. Your pain is gone. Rest In Peace my friend.

I had the joy and good fortune to work with Kathy at TRU. She was also my Jersey diner buddy. We sat next to each other in the office and every morning I’d hear “good morning Joseph” through the wall. Without fail. Always caring, listening and humble. By the way, no one called me Joseph in the office.
When I left NJ to work in Japan, she gave me this magnet which I’ve kept and have it where I see it every day. Ironically yesterday I was moving apartments, unpacked it and smiled. This morning I heard the news she’d left us.
Kathy - I’ll miss our diner breakfast and lunches (where you always ordered the same thing) and the D&D runs. Most of all, the deep talks, laughs and tears we shared.
My condolences to you Greg and the entire family.
Peace Kathy and I love you.

It's hard to believe I knew Kathy only 7 short years - It feels like I have known her my whole life. From walks around Emerson, to trying new restaurants, road trips to various places, and our infamous trips to Sloan, my life has been greatly enriched because I knew Kathy and spent many hours with her. Most people don't know the challenges she faced through the years - they don't know because she always had a smile on her face, a spring in her step, and the best attitude ever! Condolences to Greg, his children, Theresa, Kevin and Kathy and the Nemecek family - she was the best and I will always remember her with a smile on my face and gratitude in my heart. Rest easy with Mary Elizabeth and your daddy .... until we meet again, my friend...

Kathy, you were an inspiration to me with the way you maintained such a positive attitude and zest for life, despite what you were battling through. Whenever I hear "fireball", one of our Zumba songs, I will think of you, and fondly remember you dancing and having fun in our classes. I am sure you will be dancing and smiling in Heaven, and I am happy to have met you. Rest in Peace.

I have known Kathy as a patient and as the most amazing human being. She was a shining star and she brightened any room she was in. She brought a smile on your face the minute you saw her and never once did she show fear or sadness regardless of how she felt. All of us will always remember her and the joy she brought to everyone. May she rest in peace in the heavens next to her little angel. God bless her and her family and our deepest condolences to those who were lucky enough to have met her and love her.

As an asst. store mgr. in KRU Paramus back in 1988, I hired Kathy as a part-timer while she was still in high school, and her mom would have to drop her off and pick her up! Always a big smile and so full of life! Both she and I moved from stores to the offices - working at TRU Corp for many years. And there too, Kathy was always 'gushing' with a positive outlook, and full of spunk! Most co-workers would never know what she was battling personally because of her fighting spirit, big infectious smile and laughter, and genuine friendship and caring she had for all of us who were so blessed to call her friend - whether you were a casual acquaintance, or close friend. Didn't matter. Kathy was so dear to anyone she knew. We managed to keep in touch every so often after we left TRU, and I knew she was battling again....I'm deeply saddened over her loss. Her mom, husband, brother, and extended family and friends, are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless her and may she rest in peace. She always called me, 'Shar' - so that's how I'll sign this note. Love ya, Kathy --- until we meet again! Shar xoxoxo

My sister and I met Kathy in our Zumba class. She was a lot of fun and we enjoyed getting to know her and went to lunch a few times with Kathy and some of the other girls. We are keeping Kathy and all her family in our prayers. We will miss her.
With deepest sympathy,

Kathleen ( best stepmom out there) Ik your not gonna see this but it's ok that you had to let go. I'll rather see u up in heaven with Mary Elizabeth, grandpa, grandma and grandpa Freeburn living ur best next life with god, then see you in pain and see how uncomfortable you were. I'll remember all those good times we had and even the bad ones the only reason why we always went for each other was Bc we are too much alike, we both are amazing, beautiful, smart and independent women. I'll always remember you and our good memories like "mr. wanton is a ...” and I can’t wait till we can laugh at it again together but also when we went paddle boarding and went to Zumba and when you got Tyler Jackie and I ornaments to summarize our year. Life's gonna be different but I'll never forget you, when I have kids I'll tell them how much of a warrior you are and a survivor, it always happen to the best of us I love you and will miss you everyday and every time I step on that court or field I will be playing for u. I'll be waiting for the day we're we can meet up again and eat your bomb mac and cheese with a lot of top cheese hehe I love you never forget that I love you❤️- Your rockstar (Stephanie)
