Kathleen Powers Holmes

Kathleen was an administrative assistant for Our Lady of Mercy Covent, followed by the same at the OLM Rectory. Eventually, Kathleen moved onto Aides Employment Agency in Park Ridge which eventually became Here’s Help Staffing Service. She continued doing the job she loved interacting with many employers in finding people the right fit for their skills.

Kathleen’s personal time revolved around Our Lady of Mercy Church where she enjoyed attending daily mass and served as a eucharistic minister for over 50 years at Sunday mass. She brought the eucharist to many people who were homebound as well as in nursing homes. Kathleen led a lifetime of service to all who came into her path as well as her love for her faith which was first and foremost.

Kathleen was predeceased by her husbands, Gerald Powers and Peter Holmes, her parents, brothers; Patrick and Edmund McGloin, sister Bernadette McGloin brother-in-law Alfred Bruno, son-in-law Robert Hendricks, daughter-in-law Melanie Powers.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Timothy Powers, Kathleen Powers and Maureen Powers. Son-in-law Robert Beardsley, daughters-in-law Jennifer Bland and Chrissy Hendricks, sister Annmarie Bruno of Harwich, MA, her sister-in-law, Kay McGloin of Red Bank, nieces and nephews; Jennifer Frantz, Gerald Powers, Caitlin Powers and Michael Hendricks, and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675, US, on July 1, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 2 Fremont Ave, Park Ridge, NJ 07656, US, on July 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 10 Serpentine Rd, Tenafly, NJ 07670, US, on July 2, 2026, from 11:45 am to 12:00 pm.
