To know Keith was a gift. He was the life of the party, the first person you called when you needed help, the smile that could light up any room. His world — his “everything,” as he called it — was his wife Amy, their son Charlie, and their daughter Paige. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family.
Keith grew up in Dumont and went on to graduate from Dumont High School, where he was a standout athlete. He is survived by his devoted wife, Amy, who never left his side; his cherished children, Charlie and Paige; his beloved parents, William and JoAnn Wicker; his brother, Billy Wicker, retired Oradell Police Chief; and his sister and brother-in-law, Allison and Tom Manna. He is also survived by his loving in-laws, Jayne and Walter Bembridge, his sister- and brother-in-law, Jessa and Sal Cabibbo.
He was a treasured uncle to Gianna, Gabriella, Jack, Alexa, Harper, Jack, and Madelin, and was surrounded by a large and loving extended family. Keith had incredible lifelong friends — and somehow, he just kept gaining more. His friends, and even his oncologist, referred to him as a legend. Despite battling cancer for the past 16 years, he never lost his faith, hope, or love. If anything, his faith only deepened. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Pius X in Old Tappan.
Keith was equally passionate about his career. He gave his all to being the best law enforcement officer he could be. If you knew Keith, you knew he never put his work phone down — just in case he was needed.
After graduating from William Paterson University, Keith began his distinguished career in law enforcement with the Englewood Cliffs Police Department in 2000. In 2007, he was selected to serve as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), where he led significant seizures of money and narcotics. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2012.
He returned to Englewood Cliffs in 2013, earning promotion to Lieutenant Detective, and in 2020 was promoted to Captain — a role he proudly and honorably served in until his passing.
Keith was a huge sports fan. A wonderful athlete as a child, his dream was to one day coach Charlie in baseball. He was a die-hard Giants fan — just ask his children, who will tell you that Dad’s favorite colors were red and blue. He spent many unforgettable days cheering them on at MetLife Stadium.
Keith’s legacy is one of faith, strength, and unwavering love. He showed everyone around him how to live — with courage in the face of adversity, loyalty to those he loved, and a smile that never faded. The lessons he taught, the lives he touched, and the example he set will live on in his family and in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, February 25 from 2-8PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Keith's life and faith will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 10:00AM at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 268 Old Tappan Road, Old Tappan, NJ. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
