Kenneth T. Ryan

Kenneth T. Ryan, 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 16, 2022. Ken grew up in North Bergen, NJ, graduating from Cliffside Park High School. He attended City College of New York. A veteran of the US Navy, Ken served for four years. Ken owned and operated KR and Alps Lace & Embroidery. He was the past President of the former Schiffli Embroidery Association. Ken was a longtime member of the River Vale Lions Club.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nora. High school sweethearts, Ken met the love of his life in North Bergen, marrying Nora in 1964. The young newlyweds started their family of twin daughters in Teaneck and then moved to Ridgefield before settling in their forever home in River Vale, NJ in 1972. Ken was a loving father to his twin daughters Tracy and Kathy. Ken happily welcomed his son in-law, Chris, when Kathy and Chris married. His pride in his daughters was only matched by his pride in his grandsons, Tyler and Brendan. Ken loved spending time with his grandsons, especially in passing on to them his love of golf. Ken could always be seen cheering on his grandsons at all their sporting events.

Ken enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and spending time in Florida. Ken loved to golf, fish and hunt. He enjoyed a rich life surrounded by his family, grandsons, brothers, brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Ken is predeceased by his parents Edna and Adolph and his brothers Donald and Wallace. Ken is survived by his wife, Nora; his daughter Tracy; his daughter Kathy and her husband Chris Larson as well as his grandsons Tyler and Brendan Larson.

Ken Ryan will always be remembered for his quiet humor and kindness which immediately made everyone feel welcome.
