Kevin was born in the Bronx on April 12th, 1949 to Edward and Margaret McCormick. He had fond memories of growing up in the Bronx with his siblings Rosemarie, Eddie, and Denise, and attending Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and Cardinal Hayes High School.
Kevin went to Fordham University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in History and a minor in Fine Arts. He attended NYU Law and his early law career included positions at the Legal Aid Society, Child Abuse Reporting Project, and the NJ Office of the Public Defender.
Kevin met his wife Martine while working at Barneys between semesters. She admired his sharp mind, ambition, and passion for the arts. They married at Fordham Chapel on December 7th, 1975.
Kevin was a Jeopardy whiz, a history buff, an avid reader, and knew the lyrics to an astounding number of songs. If the words in a conversation with his daughters sounded like the lyrics to a song he knew, he paused the conversation to sing it. Britney - the dog he “never wanted” - became his constant companion.
Kevin was always there for his family. He traveled frequently for work and took Martine and their two daughters, Nathalie and Nicole, along whenever possible. They enjoyed Sunday picnics and hiking at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and attending the Société Culinaire’s Annual Fundraising Picnic. Kevin and Martine looked forward to summer vacations in Sarasota, Florida with their daughters and grandchildren. He loved walking on the beach, soaking up the sun, and spending hours in the Gulf talking with friends.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Martine, and their daughters Nathalie (William) and Nicole (James), as well as five loving grandchildren: Logan, Lucas, Aiden, Connor, and Riley. He will be greatly missed.
Father, we pray that nothing of our life will be lost, but that it will be of benefit to the world; that all that we hold sacred may be respected by those who follow us. We ask you that we may go on living in our family and friends, in their hearts and minds, their courage and their conscience.
The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, May 6 from 2-4 and 5-7PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Kevin's life and faith will be held at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Old Tappan, NJ on Thursday, May 7 at 10AM.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or to a Charity of Your Choice.
