Beautiful inside and out, Kristi had a warmth that drew people to her and a smile that could light up any room. She was vibrant, funny, loving and full of life. She had the best sense of humor and a way of making people laugh, feel comfortable and feel loved simply by being around her.
Kristi loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She shared a beautiful life with her devoted partner, Zacharia Kalberer, who was her greatest love, her best friend and an incredible source of love and happiness in her life. She embraced his family as her own and loved each of them dearly, his nieces and nephew, his sisters and their spouses, and his dad and stepmother. The relationships she built with them were genuine, loving and deeply meaningful to her.
She shared an extraordinarily close bond with her sister, Lauren Sabados. They were far more than sisters – they were best friends, confidants, and an unwavering source of love and strength for one another. Their bond was one of the most important and cherished relationships in each other’s lives.
She had an especially precious bond with her niece, Emilia, who absolutely adored her. Being her aunt brought Kristi tremendous joy, and the love they shared was truly something special.
She was a beloved daughter who brought immeasurable joy to her parents, Mike and Carol Sabados, and made them proud every day – not simply because of what she accomplished, but because of the remarkable woman she became. To her parents, being her mother and father was one of the greatest gifts of their lives.
A fiercely loyal friend, Kristi had a gift for making people feel valued, supported and loved. She was selfless in ways both big and small, and her friends knew they could always count on her. Her friendships were lasting and deeply treasured.
Kristi was also deeply cherished by the colleagues and friends she made throughout her career. She formed meaningful relationships with the people she worked alongside, and those relationships extended far beyond the workplace.
Kristi treasured her family and friends and brought so much joy, laughter and warmth into their lives. She especially cherished summer vacations at LBI with her family, creating memories filled with sunshine, laughter and togetherness. She also loved traveling internationally with Zach, embracing new places, cultures and experiences along the way.
Those who knew her will remember her beautiful smile, her kindness, her quick wit, her fierce loyalty, her selflessness and the special way she made the people she loved feel important. Although her life was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family, friends, colleagues and all who were fortunate enough to know her forever.
She will be missed beyond words, remembered with endless love and carried in the hearts of those who loved her always.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or mass cards in Kristi’s memory would be deeply appreciated by her family.
