Lola Rokeach

Lola (Robertson) Rokeach passed away peacefully at home in Harrington Park on September 22, 2024. She was 91. Lola grew up in Fair Oaks, PA and graduated from Leetsdale High School and Waynesburg College. She moved to NYC where she met her future husband, Martin Rokeach. (deceased). They married in 1958 in Sewickley, PA and in 1962 settled in Harrington Park, where they raised 8 children including triplets. She loved gardening, cooking, baking and jazz. In the midst of raising 8 kids, she braided rugs, sewed quilts, and mastered the art of the painted finish. Her craftsmanship touched every nook of her home. After raising her kids, she began working at the HP library, where her colleagues became lifelong friends whom she cherished. Her book club and crochet group were highlights. Always humble, calm and welcoming. Lola will be missed immensely.

Lola was predeceased by her beloved brother, Gordon Robertson. She is survived by her dear sister, Ann Quillen (Dick) and sister-in-law, Joan Myers; her 8 children: David (Yolanda), Chad (Sandy), Jenny, Steven, Clary, Annabelle Cedar (David), James (Aimee), Rafer (Wendy); former daughter-in-law, Josephine Ciallella, and 15 grandchildren: Mattia, Luna, Manuela, Consuelo, Davide, Jake, Andrew, Evan, Leah, Eliana, Aya, Larissa, Kiefer, Emilia, Alivia and two great grandchildren: Francesco and Isabella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who she adored.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Saturday, October 19 from 10:00AM - 1:00PM.
