Madaline E. Pomerantz

POMERANTZ, Madaline Elizabeth, on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 of Westwood. Devoted mother of Carol Pomerantz, Janet Pomerantz, Joseph Pomerantz, Geraldine Pomerantz and Michael Pomerantz. Loving grandmother to Alex, Michelle, Jack, Alessa, Christopher, Stephen, Kirsten, Madeline and Hannah.

We fondly remember our mother Madaline Pomerantz, an amazing women with a strong spirit and a giving heart. She loved to laugh, had a wonderful smile and an engaging nature. She was a very strong woman who did not always take the conventional route, having worked full-time and been an entrepreneur when many women were home in the neighborhood. She was dedicated to health and fitness, and opened two of her Lean Jean Figure Salons. She then continued that career at Health Spa II, where she worked for 18 years. She was a “fashionista” before her time, and met her husband Hymen at Packards in Hackensack, where they both worked in retailing.

Madaline, better known as Maddie, loved her family and celebrated being with each of her nine amazing grandchildren. She was Nana, the matriarch of the family. She loved to dance.

Maddie was always well dressed and stylish, even at medical appointments. We know that she has left this earth wearing her signature red lipstick. We celebrate her life and our family. Please laugh with us and take time to think of her and soak in her sunshine.

Visitation at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Thursday 5-8 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, cancer.org
