Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Schott (2025); her son Ronald Schott (2018); and her sister Elizabeth Hancock earlier this year. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Schott and Jeanne Edwards (Randy); and her nephew Jeffrey Hancock (Irene).
A graduate of Valparaiso University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Marge was dedicated to teaching. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher and substitute teacher in the Westwood education system, where she influenced the lives of her students.
Marge was a faithful parishioner and an active member of the Lutheran Church and member of WELCA. She had a passion for travel, embarking on educational trips abroad and exploring national parks with her family. Known for her culinary skills, Marge found joy in cooking and sharing meals as well as coffee and conversation with those close to her. Above all, she was a consummate caregiver, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, who devoted herself to raising her family and supporting those she held dear.
Marge’s legacy of love, dedication, and care will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
The family of Marge Schott would like to give special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Crane’s Mill for their care and support.
Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valparaiso University Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association in Margaret’s memory.
