Maria Fonde

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Maria Fonde (nee DePasquale), age 78, of Hillsdale, formerly of North Bergen, on October 26, 2018. Beloved Wife of Philip G. Fonde; Loving Mother of Richard Fonde and his wife Robyn, Janet DePalma and her husband Frank, and Michele Fonde; Cherished Grandmother to Lauren, Richard Jr., Sean, Gabriella, Dayna, and Nicolas. Maria immensely enjoyed her work as a Teacher's Aide at Horace Mann School in North Bergen for 35 years. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion and generosity to her family, friends, colleagues and students. Maria is survived by her twin sister, Louisa Brown and predeceased by her brother, Angelo DePasquale, and her sister, Josephine Prudenti. She will be missed by dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be on Tuesday October 30 from 4-8 pm at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. Funeral service on Wednesday October 31 at Becker Funeral Home at 10 am, followed by a Committal service at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's name to Valley Hospice, Valley Health System, www.valleyhospitalfoundation.org
