FORNATALE, Martha C. (Nash), 87, of Park Ridge, NJ died peacefully on July 7th. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore Fornatale, daughter of Joseph and Viola Nash. She is survived by her son Michael Fornatale and daughter-in-law Wendy, and daughter Jackie Fornatale. Martha established the first Development Office at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Darlington/ICS Phone-A-Thon. She served as their Development Officer raising funds for the Seminary until 1984 when the Seminary moved to South Orange. She then turned her beloved hobby into a business and opened The Book Shop in Hillsdale, featuring used and out of print books, until her retirement in 2002. Martha served on the Board of Directors of the Pascack Mental Health Center in Park Ridge from 1970-1973. She developed and organized their Annual Phone-a-Thon in 1982. She continued as a fundraiser and volunteer for PMHC until 2016. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church in Park Ridge, NJ and served as an Extraordinary Minister, bringing Communion to patients in the nursing home every Sunday. The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, July 12, from 3-8 PM. The family will gather with their relatives and friends for the Funeral Liturgy celebrating Martha's life and faith at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ on Friday, July 13 at 10AM. Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Ascension, Airmont, NY. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Pascack Mental Health Center and Tri-Boro Ambulance, both located in Park Ridge, NJ, or Family Promise of Bergen County.
