Martha Mesz Holmes

Holmes, Martha Mesz went Home peacefully on March 16, 2016. Born Martha Ethel Doughty on October 6, 1925 in Webster Groves, MO, Martha married Nicholas Mesz and they raised their family in Northvale, NJ. In 1989 Martha and Nick bought a home in VA and lived out their 38 years of marriage together until Nick passed away in December, 1998. Martha later married Frank Holmes in September, 2002 and moved to back to Missouri where she peacefully passed away. Martha was dearly loved and will be fiercely missed. Martha leaves behind an adoring husband Frank Holmes of MO, her daughters Anne Mesz of River Vale, NJ and Mary Mesz Shively, her husband, Jay and their children, Alyssa Nicole and Jacob Mesz Shively of Goochland, VA along with countless nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Maria Nisbet and her staff of caregivers at Home Care Solutions of St. Louis and specifically to Christine who selflessly gave of her time and energy to be sure Martha was not alone when she passed away. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, March 20 from 2-6PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Martha’s life will be held at St. Andrew R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ on Monday, March 21 at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
