Mary F. Daly

She was born in New York, NY, and had a happy childhood in the Bronx, NY.

Mary was a devoted mother to Patrick and Michael Daly Beloved mother-in-law to Meghan Daly and Gillian Daly. Mary took special joy in sharing her love of baseball with her sons, as she was an avid Mets fan.

Mary raised her family in Astoria, NY. She loved to take long walks and was an active member of Most Precious Blood Church. She made an amazing Irish soda bread.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Daly, who died on January 22, 2010. She is survived by her cherished sisters, Patricia Gotimer and Agnes Finneran, who will never forget the love and friendship she brought to their lives.

Mary was a sweet, kind, soft-spoken soul who loved to laugh. She took great joy in being with her family. Nothing made her light up like when she was with her beloved grandchildren: Michael age 14, Caroline age 12, Audrey age 10, Quinn age 13, and Gavin age 11. She was affectionately known to them as Grandma and “Momo.” Grandma/Momo was always ready to spoil them, especially with snacks. To her grandchildren’s delight, she always had a stash of sweets waiting for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Becker Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am at St. John the Baptist, Hillsdale. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Queens.
