Born on March 20, 1937, in Bellmullet, County Mayo, Ireland, one of 10 siblings!
Mary spent her life creating a warm, welcoming home filled with laughter, faith, and excellent food. To know her was to know a woman who truly embraced the joy of living and the comfort of family.
A devout woman of deep faith, Mary was a dedicated parishioner who regularly attended mass and found daily comfort in watching Christian television shows. Her faith guided how she loved others, which was always unconditionally and with open arms.
Mary had a vibrant energy and a wide array of passions. She loved dancing to Irish music, playing cards with friends, and was an avid shopper who always knew how to find the perfect item. A lifelong learner of the world around her, she always kept up with the daily news, but equally enjoyed unwinding with her favorite soap operas, court TV shows, and movies. She also loved the adventure of travel, especially setting sail on vacation cruises.
Above all, her family was her entire world. Mary was the happiest when cooking a large meal for her loved ones, celebrating the holidays, and hosting visits from family and friends. Her absolute greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her undivided attention, her warmth, and the beautiful memories they created together.
She is survived by her loving children: Maureen Murphy and her husband Paul Roder; Eileen Murphy and her husband Ingro Desvousges; Maurice Murphy and his wife Sharon; John Murphy; and Donna and her husband John McGoldrick.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Rachel Roder, and husband Nick Sanville, Ryan Roder, Peter Desvousges and wife Nikki, Crystal Desvousges and husband Anthony Vischetti, Kiera Murphy, Reece Murphy and wife Jillian, Shane Murphy, Conor McGoldrick, and Seamus McGoldrick; and her adored great-grandchildren: Madison Desvousges, Cooper Desvousges, and Elliot Sanville. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice Murphy, and her parents.
