Mary E. Simmons

Mary E. Simmons, of Harrington Park, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 27th, 2021. Mary was a devoted wife and mother to her six children, Jeff (Sophie) Simmons, Neil (Marianna) Simmons, Roy (Tanya) Simmons, Hope (Michael) McKenzie, Todd (Shelley) Simmons and Marcia (Joe) Shapiro and her sister, Ivon (Donald) Butman. She was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) E. Simmons.

Mary was born in Brewster, Ohio and lived in Harrington Park for the last 66 years. Mary was a faithful member of the Community Church of Harrington Park. As an avid sports fan of the NJ Devils, she loved to watch, attend games and travel with the NJ Devils Fan Club. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family.

The family will receive their relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 3rd from 4-7 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. The family will celebrate Mary’s life and faith with limited participants at 2 pm on Thursday, February 4th at the Community Church of Harrington Park with Rev. Steve Sayer officiating. This service will be streamed for the public. The interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery.

Mary’s family will be planning a final memorial service at a later date. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.
