Michael was raised in Fort Lee, NJ. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael. He is survived by his two sons, Michael and Garrett, mother Mary Gaffney and siblings Sean Gaffney and his wife Nancy, Mary Ellen Gaffney and her husband Michael Senick, Susan Coffey and her husband Michael, Tara and her husband Patrick Frimat, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Michael graduated from Fort Lee High School and William Paterson College, where he played on the baseball team. Passionate about all things baseball, he was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, and an avid sports enthusiast.
Michael worked for years as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, from which he is retired.
