Michael Anthony Ingenito

It is with profound sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Michael Ingenito. Michael passed away peacefully after a long and brave journey with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on July 17, 2026 at the age of 75.

Born on March 29, 1951 in Jersey City, NJ, Michael lived life with an infectious smile, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a heart as big as his personality. Long before he became a successful businessman, he was voted Class Clown in high school—a title that suited him perfectly throughout his life. He had a remarkable gift for making people laugh, lighting up every room he entered, and turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. He was truly the life of every party.

For many years, Michael built a very successful sales career in the garment industry. Through hard work, determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, he established and operated his own business and showroom, earning the respect of colleagues, customers, and friends alike. He took immense pride in what he created and valued the relationships he built throughout his career.

While he worked tirelessly to build his business, Michael never passed up an opportunity to gather with family and friends, share a story, enjoy a martini, and sing along to the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra. He loved creating and watching home videos and making everyone laugh. His quick wit, playful spirit, and generous heart were gifts that made every celebration bright.

Michael had a lifelong passion for exceptional automobiles and motorcycles. Among his favorites were the beautiful 1967 Corvettes he proudly owned over the years, along with a Porsche, his cherished old Mercedes, and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He appreciated the craftsmanship and beauty of every vehicle he owned.

He was also a caring dog lover whose happiest moments were often spent walking through the neighborhood with his faithful companions. His big dogs were treasured members of the family and constant sources of companionship and joy.

A devoted Catholic, Michael believed deeply in God. His faith sustained him throughout his life and gave him strength during his illness.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and the kind of person who made everyone always feel welcome. His love for his family was unwavering, and he leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and countless stories that will be retold for generations. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Simone (nee Kleinen), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership, along with his daughters Jillian Babcock (Michael) of Park Ridge, NJ, and Justine Baumann (Steven) of Park Ridge, NJ, grandchildren Leo, Charlize, Oliver, Juliet and Landon, and beloved godsons, David DeMeo and Lane DeMeo, all of whom will carry his love and values with them always.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Sr. and Irene Ingenito of Cliffside Park, NJ and his brother Joseph Ingenito of Cliffside Park, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, July 24 at Saint Margaret of Antioch R.C. Church in Pearl River, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Voice Project @ https://parkinsonvoiceproject.org/donate And/Or The Alzheimer’s Association in his memory @ alz.org/donate
