Our beloved father Michael "Paschal" McGuinness passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving behind a life defined by quiet strength, deep devotion, and enduring love for his family.
Born in Cootehill, County Cavan, Ireland, Paschal carried his Irish roots with him when he came to New York as a young man, determined to build a better life through hard work and perseverance. He was always proud of where he came from and never lost his connection to his Irish heritage.
A skilled carpenter by trade, Paschal went on to become a respected leader with the District Council of Carpenters, where he was admired for his integrity, fairness, and commitment to the men and women he
worked alongside.
Above all, Paschal was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Teresa "Tessie" Dineen McGuinness. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage, building a loving home and a lasting legacy centered around family. Tessie was his constant companion and the love of his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his five children: Mary Catherine and her spouse, Edward Packer; Eamon McGuinness and his spouse, Ellen McGuinness; Michael McGuinness and his spouse, Levi Cunha; Tom McGuinness and his spouse, Andrea McGuinness; and John McGuinness and his spouse, MaryEllen Lazzetti.
He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Casey, Ryan, Mackenzie, and Garrett McGuinness, who were the greatest pride of his life. He will also remain forever in the hearts of all his nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.
Paschal was predeceased by his siblings, Jimmy and Bridie, and is survived by his brothers, Eamon and Tony McGuinness, and Tony's wife, Joan, who were a constant source of love and support to Paschal.
Paschal will be remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, hard work, and, most of all, his love and devotion to his family. The life he built and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
