Nancy J. Hamilton

Hamilton, Nancy Jane, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She resided in her home in Hillsdale, NJ for over 40 years. Nancy retired in 1985 as Executive Secretary with Revere Copper and Brass Inc. in New York City where she worked for 35 years. She volunteered at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ for over 19 years. In 1985 after retirement, she joined and was an active volunteer and member of the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland, NJ. In 2008, she joined and helped establish Companion Animal Advocates. After about 3 years serving on the Board, she resigned because of health issues but continued to participate in some activities. Nancy is the sole survivor of her family having lost her only brother, Robert Hamilton, in 2005. Friends are invited to visit and celebrate Nancy’s life at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, November 30 from 9:30AM-11:30AM with a service celebrating her life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc., 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436 or Companion Animal Advocates, P.O. Box 61, Hillsdale, NJ 07642. Her interment will take place at a later date in the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY with her beloved pets.
