

8, 2025, twenty-three years to the day that her beloved husband George died. Pat was born in
Englewood on January 12, 1931, to Allan and Lillian Stanbury. She graduated Park Ridge High School
“Class of 1949” and later earned the prestigious Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential. She
married George Lucia in 1950 and they raised six children together in Hillsdale. In 2013 she moved to
Wheeling, WV to be closer to her daughters Robin and Kathy.
Pat had many occupations throughout the years, bank teller, caring for children in her home, deli
counter clerk, school bus driver, and medical secretary and manager of a busy doctor’s office. She was
involved in community service as a member of the Hillsdale Fire Department Lady's Auxiliary, blood bank
volunteer, and hospital volunteer. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at St. John the Baptist
church where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Pat was known for helping anyone that needed it, from delivering coffee on a frigid night to a fire scene,
to bringing meals to families in times of illness and lending an ear and coffee to anyone who just needed
someone to talk to. She fostered lost dogs and horses alike.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Edg) Lightcap of Pittsburgh, PA, George (Tricia) Lucia, of San
Marco, CA, Michael (Monica) Lucia of Clayton, NC, Robin (Rick) Targosky of Moundsville, WV, and Tricia
(Lou) Jandris, of Pompey, NY, twenty-four grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren with one on the way,
and one great-great grandchild as well as many loving nieces and nephews, and several dear friends.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, George C. Lucia, her daughter Deborah DePiero and her brothers Allan Stanbury and Robert Stanbury.
Friends and family may call at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood NJ on Monday, September 15, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, September 16 at 10am at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 69 Valley Street, Hillsdale, NJ. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery, 23 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ
