

Phyllis D. Farrington (nee Stewart) 77, a resident of Westwood for 51 years, died peacefully on Nov. 20, after a brave battle with emphysema. She grew up in Englewood and graduated from Trenton State College. A longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Westwood, she was active for many years in its St. Martha’s Guild. A dedicated and caring teacher, she taught physical education at Wayne High School and later taught health at Saint Andrew’s School in Westwood.
Phyllis is the beloved wife of Ernest A. Farrington; devoted mother of Thomas Farrington of Westwood, Barbara Rohr and her husband Richard of West Milford, NJ, and William Farrington and his wife Jeanne of Cary, North Carolina; loving sister of James Stewart and his wife, Jane of Milford, PA, and David Stewart and his wife Barbara of Westwood; sister in-law of Ronald Farrington and his wife Barbara of West Milford, NJ; cherished grandmother of Kristopher and Jesse Rohr and Jason, Faith and Shane Farrington. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Mon., Nov. 24 at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Tues., Nov. 25 at Grace Episcopal Church, followed by burial at Westwood Cemetery, Kinderkamack Road, Westwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grace Episcopal Church, 9 Harrington Avenue, Westwood, NJ 07675 would be appreciated by the family.
