

.Raymond J. Lynch, P.E., 90, of River Vale died on Wednesday Nov. 22, 2017. Born March 30, 1927, to Joseph and Mary Clancy in the Bronx, NY, where he graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in 1944. Ray enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force Reserve at age 17 and was called to active duty in May 1945. In 1950, Raymond married for 10 years and had five children; he is survived by Margaret Mary Sternefeld, John Lynch, and Daniel Lynch and predeceased by Anne Marie Lynch and William Lynch. He has six grandchildren. In 1980 Raymond married Joan M. Agugliaro nee Piliero with whom he enjoyed 33 years of married life until she passed in 2014. He played an active, loving role in the lives of her children Joan Vaccaro, John Agugliaro Jr. (predeceased), Joseph Agugliaro and three grandchildren. Ray had a very successful career in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning industry. He held nine professional engineering licenses in the country plus one in the US Virgin Islands. He worked his way up through many positions before starting his own consulting engineering business in 1981 which he ran for 21 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of many professional organizations including the American Society of Plumbing Engineers where he served as New Jersey Chapter President for two years, the Bergen County Society of Professional Engineers and the National Forensic Society, to name just a few. He served as chairman and design engineer on the National Standard Plumbing Code Committee, responsible for the plumbing code used by the state of NJ. He became involved with the New Jersey Construction Code Training program, authoring the license training manual as well as teaching at several colleges. Ray was also very proud of his involvement with the Catholic War Veterans Association. He valued the community and priests of St. Andrew’s Parish, where he and Joan found comfort and love. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Monday, November 27 from 8:30AM-10AM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Raymond's life and faith will be held at St. Andrew R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ following the visitation at 10:30AM.. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Twp. of Washington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew’s R.C. Church, Westwood NJ would be appreciated.
