Reid Darren Martin was born in Norfolk, VA on January 28th, 1976. He was the youngest of three sons born to James Martin, Jr. and Betty Durgin Martin. He lived in Virginia Beach, VA; Bartlesville, OK; Houston, TX; and Friendswood, TX.
Reid graduated from Friendswood High School in 1994 and attended San Jacinto College. He was employed by Stellar Bank in Pasadena, Texas. He was an avid gamer and collector of pop culture memorabilia.
He received his brother’s stem cells in a stem cell transplant and finally successfully beat Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2012. Unfortunately, esophageal cancer and a sepsis infection made his last cancer battle unsuccessful. Reid fought until the very end and died peacefully on February 16th, 2025.
He is survived by his mother Betty; brothers Keith and Troy Martin; his sister in-law Debbie Martin; his nephews Caleb and Wyatt Lamberth and his cat Ashley. A service was held in Friendswood, TX. He will be buried on Friday, February 28th at the Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, NJ next to his father.
