Richard N. Masiello

MASIELLO, Richard N., 85, of Emerson, NJ, passed away on Friday, July 17th, 2026. Richard is survived by his children Tom and his wife Sharon, Donna Mills and her husband Wayne and Christine Puorro and her husband Mario; his grandchildren Jennifer Jewell (Mike), Nicole Masiello (Jordan Livingston), Richard Masiello, Tyler Mills, Katelyn Colucci (Gabe), Brianna Puorro and Pierino Puorro; his great-grandchildren Parker Jewell and Bennett Livingston. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia and his parents, Esther and Thomas Masiello; his brother Donald Masiello and sister Janet Masiello.

Richard was born in Astoria, NY and moved to Paramus, NJ in 1957. Richard met his wife, Patricia and settled in Emerson, NJ in 1961. Upon high school graduation, he began a 42 year career at the Paramus Post Office where he served as the President of the American Postal Workers Union in the Paramus office. Richard was a member of the Emerson Volunteer Fire Department for 65 years, where he served as Fire Chief from 1984-1985 and was active until his passing. He was also fire inspector for the Borough of Emerson for many years. He loved visiting the Jersey Shore and going on road trips with his beloved wife in his Corvette. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his growing family.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, July 21st from 4 – 8 PM with a Fireman’s Service at 7PM. A Mass celebrating Richard's life and faith will be held at R.C. Church Of The Assumption on Wednesday, July 22nd at 10 AM with interment at Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, NJ immediately to follow.
