Robert Michael Kochur

KOCHUR, Robert M., 69, of River Vale, NJ, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Dalidunas). Devoted father of Christine and her husband Bruce Terjanian. Cherished grandfather of Jack and Lindsey. He is pre-deceased by his brother William and parents, Elizabeth and Charles Kochur. Dear brother-in-law to Lorraine Harvey and her husband Dwight, and Mary Linder and her husband Bill, who selflessly donated his kidney to Bob. Loving uncle to Brian and Dana Harvey and Allison and Ryan Linder.

Bob was born and raised in Garfield, NJ. He served in the National Guard at Fort Bliss, Texas. After a long career in sales, he retired in 2007. He enjoyed vacations at the Jersey Shore and many trips to Atlantic City. He was also a longtime member of the Westwood Elks where he helped to organize their charitable golf outings.

Bob and Joan were inseparable after meeting on a blind date 47 years ago. Their marriage was made in heaven. Bob was a kind, gentle man who will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Family and friend gatherings will never be the same.

The family will welcome friends on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Assumption, Emerson, NJ on Friday at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ.
