To the family and loved ones of Robert Wertalik, I am so sorry for your loss.  I had the opportunity to work with him for a short period in SSA hearings.  He presented as a fulfilled human being.  In viewing the photo gallery tonight,  understand why.   He had a beautiful family!

Bob was a high school classmate and soccer teammate.  He was probably the best overall athlete in our school.  I admired him as a person, and his competitive spirit motivated me to try to be better.  Although I was not nearly as talented athletically, he always encouraged me and pushed me to be better.  Looking back on my high school years, the time we spent playing soccer together was the best.  I was really looking forward to seeing him at our high school reunion in October.  I am so saddened by his loss and send my sincere condolences to his family.

I only knew Mr. Wertalik professionally but wanted to send my condolences, he helped me so much as i am sure he did for many like me.  

You helped me more than i can ever thank you or Laurie for. Praying for your loved ones.

From the first moment I met Bob I was struck by how down to earth, fun, and a truly enjoyable person he was to be around. We became instant friends. Laurie and I had known and been friends with each other since High School. With Bob they made a terrific life and family. 
Robert, I'm going to miss seeing you at the hockey games, concerts, our political discussions, and sharing good times in the Poconos. May you rest in peace knowing that the best part of you will be carried on in your children.

His children, grand daughter, and his wife were his entire world and everyone who knew him could see this in him. I knew Bob as a student, star athlete and friend for more than forty four years. He was a student in my class, a three sport athlete and had his ankles taped many times in my Athletic Training Room, and coaching him on our Soccer Team. Our friendship continued through his years in college, law school and his career as a lawyer. With his marriage to Laurie we became a foursome sharing many wonderful experiences here in New Jersey ,Pennsylvania and Florida. We had so many fond memories of the good times. Bob was a wonderful Husband and father and totally devoted to his family.We shared our love for Baseball . Bob loved the Yankees and I the Mets. Some great discussions !! I enjoyed every minute that I spent with Bob. I admired his devotion to his wife and family. They always came first in Bobs eyes. It is so difficult for me to see this family have Bob taken from them but I know that he will never be forgotten by all of us who loved him. Now he is with God. I wish I had the words to help ease the pain of the passing of Bob. I am so glad we got to see all of you earlier this month at Anne and Andy's. Bob loved life and everyone in life loved Bob back!
