Roger F. Gill, IX, 89, of Westwood, NJ, formerly of Voorhees, NJ, Mount Pleasant, SC, Ellicott City, MD and Dunwoody, GA, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Roger F., VIII and Mary Gill. He was a devout parishioner of St. Andrew’s RC Church and attended the Thomas J. Riley Senior Center where he loved to teach and play bridge. He taught English as a second language classes at the Westwood Public Library.
Roger was predeceased by his wife Dolores “Lorry” Gill; sisters Helen Gill, Marion Springer, and Virginia Bedell; and brother Robert Gill. He is survived by his daughter Laurie Guastella and her husband Michael; grandchildren Marlo, Cali, Lena, and Reno; and loving companion Bertie Gill.
A Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s R.C. Church, Westwood, NJ, on Thursday at 11AM. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Becker Funeral Home, Westwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Westwood Library, 49 Park Ave., Westwood, NJ 07675.
