Ronald Albert Sinkovitz

Born in New York City and raised in New Milford, NJ, Ron was a proud 1972 graduate of Bergen Catholic High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston College in 1976, where he was also a dedicated member of the track and field team—a passion he carried from his high school years and later shared with his children long before Forrest Gump made running cool.

Ron continued his education by earning an MBA from Pace University and pursuing his CPA. He began his career at KPMG, later becoming an international corporate treasurer with Best Foods, and ultimately serving as vice president and controller at Intersection, an outdoor advertising company.

Above all, Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Among his proudest achievements were his 46-year marriage to his beloved wife, Lourdes, and the success of their three children. He embraced retirement with enthusiasm—traveling with Lourdes, playing with his five grandchildren, and staying active. Whether dominating pickleball players half his age, losing himself in a good book, or cheering on the Maryland women’s basketball team, Ron approached life with boundless energy, good humor, and a generous heart.

Ron is survived by his wife, Lourdes Silva Sinkovitz; his son Kenneth Sinkovitz (Lauren); his daughters Lisa Virgilio (Calvin) and Julie Sinkovitz; and his dear grandchildren Henry, Nina, and Cameron Virgilio, and Nate and Chace Sinkovitz. He is also survived by his sister Ellen Gloistein (John) and brother Frank Sinkovitz (Kara).

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ann Sinkovitz.

Ron will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, dedication to his family, and his remarkable ability to strike up conversation, making anyone feel at ease and welcomed.

A memorial service will be held at St. Gabriel the Archangel in Saddle River, NJ on Friday, January 2nd at 10:30am, with visiting hours beginning at 10:00am.
