Rudolph Charles Dreyer, age 78, of Hillsdale, NJ passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Rudolph was born August 29, 1939 in Bronx, NY to Mary and Charles Dreyer. Rudolph is survived by his wife, Judith A. Dreyer, his son and daughter-in-law John and Maria Dreyer, his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Rick Ferrer and a sister Jane Ost. “Pop pop” will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren, Nina Ferrer and Jake and Stephen Dreyer. Before retiring in 2002, Rudolph was a heavy equipment operator for IUOE Local 825, Springfield, NJ. He was also a devoted member of the Hillsdale Volunteer Fire Department from 1966 through 1987. During his time as a Volunteer Firefighter Rudolph held a 71% average attendance record and served as 3rd Lieutenant. Rudolph also spent time as the Firehouse cook and once made 95lbs of Lasagna! We are all very proud of his service as a Firefighter. A memorial visitation for Rudolph will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Hillsdale Fire Department service at 8:00 PM and Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a religious service at 12:00 PM.
