I worked at JP Morgan when Senka was there.  A wonderful person.  Rest in peace.

Although we moved many years ago and lost touch, our daughter's grew up together. We shared many fond Hillsdale memories with all of you. We extent our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers for all of you during this difficult time.  What a great loss.

I have known Senka since she joined Brighthouse in June 2020 during the height of the COVID lockdown. She joined our team while we were all working from home and we did not meet in person until two years later. But even when we met in person, it was as if we had known each other personally for a long time and being face to face was just some sort of formality. Our team talked virtually everyday with our cameras on, which was the norm for us, so when we saw each other it was just like we were going out to a simple lunch, except we got to know who was tall (Senka) and who was short (me). Even when we did not have formally scheduled meetings, Senka and I talked every day even if it was not work related. Senka talked passionately about her family, especially her girls and grandbabies (including Marshall, who made appearances on our team meetings), to the point that I feel like I know them as well. She loved every opportunity to babysit Auggie and her last text message to our team was on February 4th announcing the birth of her second grandbaby, Julian. She was so proud of her family, and it is so nice to see all the pictures posted here because I get to see a glimpse of the loves of her life.

Senka is not only my colleague at Brighthouse, but also a wonderful and trusted friend. She was a mentor to me and I have valued her ideas and opinions a great deal. She was my rock and I will miss her so much. 

I send my deepest condolences to Senka’s family. Please take comfort in knowing that she loved you all very much. I pray for your family’s strength during this difficult time.

I am heartbroken to hear the new of Senka's passing.  We go way back to the year 2000, when I moved to Hillsdale. Our daughters quickly became best friends, and so did we. We were the working moms—dropping our kids off at 7:00 a.m. and picking them up well after 6:00 p.m. We connected immediately and built a friendship that carried us through those busy years. As often happens, our daughters went their separate ways, and with time, so did we.
About two years ago, I ran into Senka at the train station, and we picked up right where we left off as if no time had passed. Senka had a quiet sense of humor and as we boarded the train, she said, “Let’s sit together, chat, and annoy the commuters.” I laughed and said, “Let’s do it.” We talked the entire ride, catching up on life with such ease.
Senka spoke so lovingly about her daughters and their accomplishments, their strength, and how proud she was of them. We were proud mamas of the beautiful women our daughters had become.
Even though we didn’t stay closely in touch, knowing she is gone is deeply sad.
To Denis, Gabriela, and Olivia: I pray you each find peace in her memory. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Senka was never just my cousin. She was the big sister I was lucky enough to have in my life. She took me to dances, let me tag along, made me feel included and special in ways that shaped so much of who I became. She was my Kuma for Confirmation, and a steady, loving presence in my life.

She had this way of showing up — fully, fiercely, and with so much heart. I will always be grateful for the way she guided me, protected me, and believed in me.

This is such an enormous loss for our entire family. There is a space that simply cannot be filled. The love she gave, the strength she carried, and the light she brought into every room will live on in all of us.

May you feel surrounded by the same love your mom so generously gave to all of us. We will carry her with us always.
