NELSON, Shirley J., 92, formerly of Franklin Lakes, NJ, Emerson, NJ and Westwood, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. She was born in Tuxedo, NY to David and Lucy Blauvelt. Beloved wife of the late Warren F. Nelson with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Jo-Ann Velez and husband Luis, and the late Charles F. Nelson. Loving grandmother of David, Randy, Roxanne and Giselle Velez. Cherished great grandmother of Ava, Chloe, Leonardo and Colin. Shirley was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Hillsdale, NJ. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday, March 4 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Funeral Service celebrating Shirley’s life and faith will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 5 at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
