Thomas "Tom" Absalom passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 75.
Tom was the beloved husband of Eugenia "Chiqui' Absalom and a devoted father to Susan and Greg Grasso, Thomas and Alahna Absalom, and Michael and Aubrey Absalom. He was a proud and loving Papi to his seven grandsons Christopher, Joseph, and Vincent Grasso, and Armando, Burren, Sylas, and Thomas Absalom.
Tom was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the Boston Red Sox. He loved coaching baseball and basketball and took great pride in mentoring young athletes both on and off the field.
Although Tom begin his professional career in banking, he found special fulfillment later in life working in education, a field he truly enjoyed. He touched many lives through his kindness, generosity, and dedication to others.
Tom will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, love of family, and unwavering support of those he cared about. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Mass will be held in Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, located at 275 8th Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Tom's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Joseph's Indian School.
Tom's love, guidance, and example will remain in the hearts of his family forever. May he rest in peace.
