Mr. Thomas L. Steele Jr.

STEELE, Thomas L., Jr., 88, a 59 year resident of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. He was born in Cleveland, OH to Thomas and Mary Steele. Tom graduated from Colgate University, Class of 1946. Before retiring in 1988, he worked for Nabisco for 43 years where he was Vice President of Distribution and Transportation. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ where he served as an Usher and was a former member of the Finance Council. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in World War II and Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Patricia M. Steele. Devoted father of Thomas L. Steele, III, Geoffrey Steele and his late wife Janice, Kathleen Steele, Marguerite Pinto and her husband John, Patricia Mansey and her husband Stephen, Therese Steele and the late Deborah Lopchuk, dear friend Bob Zomerdyke. Dear brother of Francis, John and Peter Steele, Ann Carol Leal, and the late Patricia Donovan and Betty Dowd. Loving grandfather of Justin, Paige, Taylor, T.J. and Brenna. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, 4-8PM. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale, NJ at 10AM. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Twp. of Washington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Tom’s name to American Legion Post #162, Hillsdale, NJ.
